Polarion ALM 3.1.2 Update Available

Monday, August 4th, 2008 by Robert Palomo

This post is to advise current Polarion ALM customers that we have an update release, version 3.1.2, available. This is a maintenance release focused mainly on bug fixing, performance, and usability. Since everything in this release will also be in the next major release, it is not critical to update now unless you really need one of the fixes delivered in the update. To see a list of the issues fixed, you can visit the Enterprise Download page – Related Downloads and check the Resolved Work Items file.

How to get the update

To update an existing Polarion ALM installation, visit http://www.polarion.com/downloads/almupdates.php and check what you need to download for your OS and currently installed version.

If you want to make a new, clean installation of this version, visit www.polarion.com/downloads/download_enterprise.php, select the tab for your operating system, and click the Download button. (The distribution will work with a valid license for any Polarion ALM product).

“Easy Start” Custom Configuration for Polarion ALM

Thursday, July 24th, 2008 by Robert Palomo

We’ve just released a new free “ALM Easy Start” custom configuration for the Polarion ALM platform. When installed to the platform, users are taken to the Wiki on first login, rather than the dashboards, as in the default configuration.

The Wiki on the Repository level contains a Wiki space with some handy tips for Getting Started with Polarion ALM. (You can of course modify or delete this.) Note: If you already have Wiki pages in the Repository ‘webhome’ space, don’t install this configuration – you will overwrite your content on the webhome page!

The configuration is mainly intended for new users and evaluators. Existing users may still want to install the configuration for the project template it contains… projects based on it will start project users out in the Wiki when they first log in. And of course, this serves as an example of how you can customize Polarion ALM. The distribution comes with a PDF installation guide.

More info and the free download at the new ALM Easy Start Configuration page.
